Texts not sending — Samsung Galaxy

This guide is for when you HAVE signal but texts fail. If you have no signal at all, use the no-service guide instead.
  1. Check for a software update

Go to Settings, then Software update, then Download and install. If one is available, install it first.

  2. Check chat features

Open Messages (Samsung Messages or Google Messages, depending on your phone), then Settings, then Chat settings or RCS chats, turn it on. If it's stuck setting up, turn it off and on, or off to fall back to regular texts.

  3. Check blocked numbers

Messages, then three dots, then Settings, then Block numbers and spam, or Phone, then Block numbers.

  4. Toggle Airplane Mode

On for 15 seconds, then off.

  5. Clear the Messages cache

Settings, then Apps, then Messages, then Storage, then Clear cache. This doesn't delete your messages.

  6. Restart, then call your carrier if all texts fail

One person failing points to their phone or number.
