My phone isn't ringing — Samsung Galaxy
Check for a software update
Go to Settings, then Software update, then Download and install. If one is available, install it first, then test a call.
Check the sound mode
Swipe down from the top twice. Look for the Sound tile. It should say Sound, not Mute or Vibrate. If it says Mute or Vibrate, tap it until it says Sound.
Turn up the ringtone volume
Press the volume up button, then tap the three dots under the volume bar. Make sure the Ringtone slider is turned up.
Check Do Not Disturb
Swipe down from the top twice. If the Do Not Disturb tile is lit up, tap it to turn it off. You can also go to Settings, then Notifications, then Do not disturb, and check if a schedule is turning it on automatically.
Check your ringtone
Go to Settings, then Sounds and vibration, then Ringtone. If it's set to Silent, tap it and pick a tone.
Check blocked numbers
Open the Phone app, tap the three dots at the top right, then Settings, then Block numbers. If the caller is listed, remove them.
Check Bluetooth
If your phone is connected to headphones or a car, the ring may play there. Go to Settings, then Connections, then Bluetooth, and disconnect, or turn Bluetooth off for a test call.
Check call forwarding
Open the Phone app, tap the three dots, then Settings, then Supplementary services, then Call forwarding. If forwarding is on, your calls go to another number. Turn it off.
Restart the phone
Hold the power button and volume down together, then tap Restart.
If nothing worked, reset your settings
Go to Settings, then General management, then Reset, then Reset all settings. This does not delete your photos or apps, it just puts settings back to defaults.
