How to take a screenshot — Apple iPhone

A screenshot is a photo of whatever is on your screen. It saves to Photos.
  1. Check for a software update

Go to Settings, then General, then Software Update. If one is available, install it first.

  2. If your iPhone has Face ID (no Home button)

Press the Side button and the Volume Up button at the same time, then let go quickly. The screen flashes white and a small picture appears in the bottom left corner.

  3. If your iPhone has a Home button

Press the Home button and the Side button (or the Top button on older models) at the same time, then let go quickly.

  4. The small picture is your screenshot

Tap it to draw, crop, or share it, or swipe it left to dismiss it. Either way, it is saved.

  5. To find it later

Open Photos, tap Albums, then Screenshots.

  6. Easier way if the buttons are hard

Turn on Back Tap. Go to Settings, then Accessibility, then Touch, then Back Tap, then Double Tap, then Screenshot. After that, double-tap the back of the phone to take a screenshot.
