Phone is slow or stuck — Samsung Galaxy

Safety firstBack up important information before any reset. If the Galaxy freezes after every restart, contact Samsung or a repair shop.
A Galaxy with almost no free space can become slow, fail to update, and close apps.

  1. Choose the right first step

    If the Galaxy is completely frozen, hold the Side button and Volume Down together for 7–10 seconds and release both when the Samsung logo appears. If it still responds but is slow, open Settings > Software update > Download and install, and install an available update first.

  2. Check exact free space

    Open Settings > Device care > Storage. Tap Images, Videos, Audio files, Documents, or Installation files to review them.

  3. Remove a recent problem app

    Open Settings > Apps. Tap the app added just before the trouble, then tap Uninstall > OK.
