Wi‑Fi will not connect — Google Pixel

Safety firstDo not erase the Pixel because one Wi‑Fi network fails. If every device fails, contact the internet provider.
First notice whether the Pixel cannot join Wi‑Fi, or joins but says there is no internet.
  1. Check for an Android update

If you can use another working Wi‑Fi network, check for an update first. If the phone cannot connect to any Wi‑Fi network, continue to the next step. Open Settings > System > Software updates > System update, then tap Check for update. Follow the on-screen steps if one is available.

  2. Refresh Wi‑Fi

Open Settings > Network & internet > Internet. Turn Wi‑Fi off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it on.

  3. Forget and rejoin

In Settings > Network & internet > Internet, tap the network, then tap Forget. Choose it again and enter its password.

  4. Restart the Pixel

Hold Power and Volume Up, then tap Restart.

  5. Restart the internet box

Unplug the modem or router for 30 seconds. Plug it in and wait for its normal lights to return.

  6. Temporarily test without a VPN

Open Settings > Network & internet > VPN. Tap the gear beside the VPN and tap Disconnect, test Wi‑Fi, then reconnect if it was not the cause.
