No network connection — Google Pixel

Safety firstDo not erase the Pixel or delete an eSIM. Network resets remove saved Wi‑Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings, so use them only after the earlier checks.
Use this guide when the Pixel cannot use mobile data, Wi‑Fi, or Bluetooth. Check each switch before resetting anything.
  1. Check for an Android update

Why: An Android update can repair the phone software that controls the SIM, Wi‑Fi, and Bluetooth.

What to do: Connect to any working Wi‑Fi network if one is available. Open Settings > System > Software updates > System update, then tap Check for update. Follow the on-screen steps if one appears. If no connection works, continue to step 2.

What to look for: After the Pixel restarts, check whether the cellular bars, Wi‑Fi symbol, or Bluetooth device returns.

  2. Turn Airplane mode off and refresh the radios

Why: Airplane mode turns off the Pixel’s wireless connections, and toggling it can refresh a stuck connection.

What to do: Open Settings > Network & internet. If Airplane mode is on, turn it off. If it is already off, turn it on, wait 15 seconds, then turn it off again.

What to look for: Wait up to one minute for cellular bars, the Wi‑Fi symbol, or a Bluetooth connection to return.

  3. Make sure mobile data is turned on

Why: Calls may still work while apps have no internet if Mobile data is off.

What to do: Open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs. Tap your carrier, turn on Use SIM, then turn on Mobile data. Do not erase an eSIM.

What to look for: Confirm both switches remain on, then open a webpage with Wi‑Fi turned off.

  4. Reconnect to Wi‑Fi

Why: A saved Wi‑Fi connection can stop working after its password or router settings change.

What to do: Open Settings > Network & internet > Internet. Turn Wi‑Fi on, tap the network name, and enter its password if asked. If it says No internet, test another Wi‑Fi network before changing the Pixel.

What to look for: The network should say Connected and the Wi‑Fi symbol should appear at the top of the screen.

  5. Turn Bluetooth on and reconnect one device

Why: Testing one known device shows whether Bluetooth itself is unavailable or only one accessory lost its pairing.

What to do: Open Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth and turn on Use Bluetooth. Return to Connected devices > Pair new device, put one accessory in pairing mode, then tap its name.

What to look for: The accessory should appear under Connected devices. If it does, Bluetooth is working even if another device still fails.

  6. Restart the Pixel

Why: Restarting reloads the wireless services without removing saved networks or accounts.

What to do: Hold Power and Volume Up, then tap Restart.

What to look for: After startup, wait one minute and check for cellular bars, the Wi‑Fi symbol, and Bluetooth again.

  7. Reset network settings only as a last step

Why: This can repair damaged connection settings, but it removes saved Wi‑Fi networks and Bluetooth pairings.

What to do: Write down any Wi‑Fi passwords you need. Open Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Bluetooth & Wi‑Fi, then tap Reset settings and confirm. If mobile data still fails, return to Reset options > Reset mobile network settings and confirm.

What to look for: Afterward, reconnect to Wi‑Fi and one Bluetooth device, then test mobile data again.
