Phone got wet — Google Pixel
Safety firstGet repair help after salt water, pool water, sweet drinks, long submersion, or any heat, smell, swelling, smoke, or strange behavior.
Water resistance wears down over time. Salt water and sweet drinks can cause damage after the Pixel looks dry.
Unplug it and turn it off
Disconnect every cable. Hold Power and Volume Up, then tap Power off. If touch does not work, stop pressing buttons.
Remove the case and dry outside
Use a soft, lint-free cloth. Hold the USB-C opening downward so liquid can drain.
Use normal airflow
Leave the Pixel in a dry place with airflow. Do not use rice, heat, compressed air, or put anything in the USB-C opening.
Wait for the USB warning to clear
Do not reconnect a cable while the USB port disabled or liquid warning remains. Use wireless charging only if the outside is fully dry and the phone supports it.
Back up after it works normally
Open Settings > Google > Backup, then tap Back up now while on Wi‑Fi and power.
