No calls, texts, or phone signal — Apple iPhone

Safety firstIf only this iPhone has no signal and the carrier says the line is active, contact the carrier before resetting or erasing anything.
If you need an urgent call and this iPhone cannot connect, use another phone instead of continuing.
  1. Check for an iOS update

Open Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, tap Update Now and follow the on-screen steps.

  2. Refresh the signal

Open Settings and turn Airplane Mode on. Wait 15 seconds, then turn it off.

  3. Make sure the line is on

Open Settings > Cellular. Under SIMs, tap your phone line and turn on Turn On This Line. Do not delete an eSIM.

  4. Make sure roaming is on

Roaming lets the iPhone use a partner network when your carrier’s own signal is unavailable. Open Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options, then turn on Data Roaming. If you have more than one line, open Settings > Cellular, tap the line you use, then turn on Data Roaming. Your carrier may charge for roaming outside your plan, especially internationally.

  5. Choose the network automatically

Open Settings > Cellular > Network Selection and turn on Automatic.

  6. Restart the iPhone

Open Settings > General > Shut Down. Drag the slider, wait 30 seconds, then hold the Side button.
