Apps keep closing by themselves — Apple iPhone

Safety firstDo not delete an app holding unsaved notes, recordings, sign-in codes, or game progress.
If one app has trouble, start with that app. If many apps close, check iPhone Storage first.

  1. Check for an iOS update

    Open Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, tap Update Now and follow the on-screen steps.

  2. Close and reopen the app

    Swipe up from the bottom and pause. Find the app, swipe it up, then open it again.

  3. Update the app

    Open App Store > your picture. Scroll to Upcoming Automatic Updates, then tap Update beside the app.

  4. Check free space

    Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Remove only downloads or apps you can restore.

  5. Reinstall only when safe

    Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage > the app. Use Offload App first; use Delete App only if its information is backed up and you know the sign-in.
